The Mil-Rite's negatives are fairly minor: Large, posole corn doesn't feed very well. On a loose setting, the bed (supposedly stationary) stone is a little loose; and grits can fly out the unshielded sides. Too tight a setting with soft grain results in flour back-up. Setting the stones to a pre-determined width is a little problematic.

I am less happy regarding the use of Retsel Mil-Rite steel burrs for grinding maize. They appear to be cast, not machined; and some of the grooves do not taper as they approach the outer edge of the disk. The crude burrs may be good for beans or nuts and are dishwashable, but they generate a wide range of granulation in corn.

Your Mil-Master is faster than my Mil-Rite, so I can't directly answer your question. However, my experience is that using a tight setting with hard spring wheat raises the flour temp by 50°F. With winter wheat, the temp is raised 45°. Looser settings do not generate the fine flour I want.
